We are pleased to host Israeli researcher, activist and former journalist Ayala Panievsky to discuss her new book, The New Censorship: How the War on the Media is Taking Us Down, in conversation with leading peace activist Magen Inon.
What role has the Israeli media played in perpetuating the Israel-Gaza war?
Why and how has this happened, in the context of the rise of right-wing populism in Israel and globally?
How does the populist right in Israel and elsewhere succeed in shaping the public debate, encouraging journalists to self-censor and the public to stop listening?
How have disinformation and media manipulation shaped coverage of the war in the UK?
And how can we combat this new censorship and protect our right to information?
Please note: for technical reasons this event will not be recorded or livestreamed.
There will be opportunities at the event to buy signed copies of Ayala Panievsky’s book.
The venue will be confirmed after you have purchased tickets. It is in the Hampstead area. It has step-free access and accessible toilets. Blue Badge holders can park by arrangement. If you have other accessibility requirements please contact us: info@yachad.org.uk.
