Violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank has reached alarming new levels, with the chief of the Israeli army’s Central Command recently calling for greater legal powers to combat it.
October 2025 saw the highest number of attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinians ever recorded, with an average of eight attacks per day.
Settler violence makes life in the West Bank impossible for Palestinians, and it’s aimed at forcing them to leave their land. The attacks include physical violence, arson, animal abuse, theft, destruction of property and more. This is the daily reality faced by Palestinians, and increasingly also by Israeli peace activists, and even IDF soldiers.
Netanyahu’s far-right government has often ignored, excused, or supported violent settlers, by removing the military’s ability to use administrative detention against settlers, funding the constant growth of illegal outposts and settlements, and publicly defending violent individuals.
The UK government has the power to take firm action on settler violence, for example:
- Imposing further sanctions on individuals and organisations responsible for displacement and settler violence — including Israeli government coalition members who enable or incite it.
- Preventing UK charitable donations being used to fund settlements.
Please write to your MP today — share the facts and urge the UK government to act. Our MPs need to hear that British Jews do not support this violence by settlers, or the actions of the Israeli government which enable it.
