We will hear from Ma’ayan Cohen, Resource Development Coordinator at Gisha, an Israeli human rights organization which focuses on Gaza and Guy Ben Yehuda Berlfein, researcher for Breaking the Silence, an organization of veteran Israeli soldiers. They will share the facts about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, including the systemic problems with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) and the shootings of Palestinians at aid distribution sites.
The webinar will be hosted by Magen Inon, a leading voice for peace between Israelis and Palestinians, whose parents were murdered on 7 October.
Speakers:
Ma’ayan Cohenis Resource Development Coordinator for Gisha, an Israeli NGO which aims to protect the freedom of movement of Palestinians, especially Gaza residents. She worked for two and a half years as a Grants Officer for the London-based social and environmental sustainability charity, Groundwork London. Ma’ayan has been involved in labour and environmental activism. Prior to joining Gisha, Ma’ayan was a participant on the educational and participatory justice programme Achvat Amim through which she volunteered on various grassroots projects in the occupied Palestinian Territory.
Guy Ben Yehuda Berlfein was born in Jerusalem. He served as a foot soldier in the 50th battalion of the Nahal Brigade from 2017-2020. Following his release from the military he worked in building construction. Guy currently works as an interviewer in the Testimony Collection and Research Department.
