Yachad UK has expressed “delight” after agreeing a half-day programme that will allow hundreds of 16-year old British Jews to visit East Jerusalem, see Palestinian neighbourhoods and discuss options for peace.
The organisation has been working with five youth movements arranging Israel tours over the summer. The day, which is being delivered by an educational outreach programme called Ir Amim, will allow the teenagers to explore the political complexity of Jerusalem.
Yachad founder Hannah Weisfeld said: “It signals a real interest from the next generation in dealing with the more challenging aspects of Israeli society.”
