Rabbis write to Israeli envoy in protest of Palestinian village demolition

‘Jewish activists from Yachad say residents “have been moved at least five times from their homes, with structures being demolished, throwing the community deeper into poverty and significantly damaging Israel’s international standing”.

They say that if large portions of the village are destroyed, dozens of families will be made homeless, and that this “will plunge an already impoverished community into complete chaos,” adding: “It does nothing to either enhance the security of the state of Israel or protect the rights of the Palestinian people of the region.”

In the letter to Regev, published this week, the rabbis said the decision to demolish the buildings was “taken in bad faith, to be done even before the Israeli High Court will hear the ongoing appeal”.’
