Statement after murder of Ali Dawabsha & stabbing at Jerusalem Pride

Last night, Ali Saad Dawabsha, a baby from the Palestinian village of Douma, near Nablus, was murdered in a firebomb attack by Jewish terrorists. Earlier yesterday evening, 6 people were stabbed at the Jerusalem Pride parade by an ultra-Orthodox Jewish terrorist. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dawabsha’s family – currently in hospital – and with the victims of the attack in Jerusalem.
The attacks have been condemned by Prime Minister Netanyahu and figures from across Israeli politics, …

NUS NEC affiliate to BDS

As an organisation committed to supporting a peaceful outcome to the Israel Palestine conflict, we were disappointed to hear that NUS National Executive Council have passed a policy to affiliate to the Boycott Divestment Sanctions (BDS) movement and to support local BDS campaigns initiated by students on campuses across the UK.
We believe that a two state solution is the only viable and just resolution to the Israel Palestine conflict. The Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement is based on …

We Need You: Sign the Open Letter

Dear Friend,
Write to Prime Minister Netanyahu by clicking here.
The election results from Israel, which come in the wake of a divisive and fear-mongering election campaign, are a wake-up call for all those who believe in a better Israel. The results are a wake-up call not just for Israelis but also for Jews across the world.
It is of course for Israelis to decide on who gets elected to the Knesset. However, when the Prime Minister of Israel makes it clear that he will never allow two-states …

Support Yachad in 2015

Dear friend,
Support Yachad in 2015
It is with great delight that we are able to share with you a copy of Yachad’s Annual Report for 2014.
Never before has Yachad seen such quick growth in supporters, participation in our campaigns and donations as we did over the difficult summer months of 2014. Many members of our community were looking for a voice and a ‘home’ with which they felt comfortable, and we were able to provide them with one.
Our visible presence in the mainstream media …

Terror in Jerusalem

This morning (18th November) four people were killed in terror attack whilst praying a synagogue in Jerusalem. The killing of innocent civilians can never be justified and our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. Violence and terrorism will do nothing to help restore calm to the region or bring the parties closer to an agreement. Sadly, it is tragic events like this that serve as a reminder that the status quo is not tenable, and how urgent it is that a political …

Yachad successfully joins the Board of Deputies

I am pleased to let you know that this morning the Board of Deputies voted by a majority of 135 to 61 to welcome Yachad into the organisation. We are delighted with the outcome and we look forward to taking part in the democratic decision making of the British Jewish community.
Over the past month, the organisation, and its staff, have been subject to a no campaign against our inclusion into the Board of Deputies, which has resorted to the spreading of rumours, false allegations and smear …

We need your help at 11 am today

From 11am this morning the Board of Deputies will debate and vote on whether to allow Yachad to become a member organisation. Whilst the debate is taking place it is important that deputies see there is a groundswell of support inside Anglo-Jewry for Yachad, and a desire from within the grassroots of the community for Yachad to be represented at the Board of Deputies. So…if you are a ‘tweeter’ please help us by getting on your twitter feed and letting the deputies know you …

Yachad statement following the house of commons vote to recognise Palestine

The vote in the House of Commons today in support of the recognition of the state of Palestine alongside the state of Israel, highlights the urgency of reaching a stable, enduring, comprehensive peace between Israel and the Palestinian people. Without significant progress towards reaching an agreement, international actions of this nature are likely to become more frequent, whilst the parties themselves grow further away from peace. Whilst the yes vote does not obligate British foreign policy, …

Help us reward moderation and negotiations 03.09.2014

Dear friend, Write to the Israeli ambassador and your MP
On Sunday Israel announced it was seizing 998 acres of land in the West Bank belonging to Palestinian villages, to declare it as State Land, paving the way to expand the settlement of Gvaot. It is believed to be the largest amount of land seized by the Israeli government for 30 years.
Israel’s allies have asked her to reverse the decision with phone calls being made by both America and European governments to the Prime …
