Israeli teenager killed, brother and father seriously wounded in West Bank explosion

August 23, 2019

A 17-year-old teen, Rina Shnerb, was killed this morning by an explosive device in a West Bank spring while hiking with her father and brother, who were moderately and seriously wounded, respectively.

At this difficult time, our thoughts are with the Shnerb family and their loved ones. This violence can never be justified and should be condemned in the strongest terms by all those who seek peace and a political resolution to the conflict.

This morning’s attack is also a painful reminder to what the “status quo” of the conflict looks like. How many more people need to fall victim to this conflict for the leadership to take bold actions for peace?
