This year, to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut, Yachad & the New Israel Fund are delighted to be hosting a special concert with Rona Kenan at JW3.
With her distinctive velvety voice, biting lyrics and virtuoso guitar playing, Rona Kenan is one of Israel’s most distinguished artists. She has released four highly successful, critically-acclaimed albums to date, three of which reached gold status, and in 2009 she was named Singer of the Year by Israel’s most popular music radio station.
A gay rights activist, Kenan was one of the first artists to be vocal on this issue in Israel and has come under scrutiny for her broader support of civil society. This special Yom Ha’atzmaut concert will be followed by a Q+A exploring the relationship in Israel between politics, art and freedom of expression.
